Hey, hey, wolf!
That river is big,
its water runs high —
you can't cross on foot.
You'd better get to work
and ride on something.

An apple and a pear,
a glazed bowl,
a mouse and a mousetrap,
a cat and two rabbits,
a moon and a star —
it's the first day of spring!
Atal matal tutuleh,
how is Hasan's cow?
No milk and no udder —
the cow's been taken to India.
Take a Kurdish wife,
name her Am-qezi,
with a red band round her hat,
