قدم می‌زد تو کوچه
یهو یه کفش ولگرد
پای اونو لگد کرد
مورچه پا شکسته
راه نمی‌ره نشسته
با برگی پاشو بسته
لنگون زنون و خسته
نمی‌تونه کار کنه
دونه‌ها رو بار کنه
تو لونه انبار کنه
بچه‌هاشو شاد کنه
مورچه جونم تو ماهی
عیب نداره سیاهی
مانند شیر شاهی
خوب بشه پات الهی

ترجمه

Atal matal, a little ant
was strolling down the alley.
Suddenly a stray shoe
stepped on her foot.
The ant's leg is broken —
she can't walk, she sits.
She's bound her foot with a leaf,
limping and weary.
She can't get to work —
to load up the seeds,
store them in the nest,
and make her little ones happy.
Dear little ant, you're lovely,
being black is no flaw,
brave as a royal lion —
may your foot heal soon!
