ای نام تو بهترین سرآغاز
بی‌نام تو نامه کی کنم باز
ای یاد تو مونس روانم
جز نام تو نیست بر زبانم
ای کارگشای هر چه هستند
نام تو کلید هر چه بستند
ای هست کن اساس هستی
کوته ز درت درازدستی
هم قصه‌ی نانموده دانی
هم نامه‌ی نانوشته خوانی
هم تو به عنایت الهی
آنجا قدمم رسان که خواهی
از ظلمت خود رهایی‌ام ده
با نور خود آشنایی‌ام ده

Bi nām-e to nāme key konam bāz
Ey yād-e to munes-e ravānam
Joz nām-e to nist bar zabānam
Ey kārgoshā-ye har che hastand
Nām-e to kelid-e har che bastand
Ey hast-kon asās-e hasti
Kuteh ze darat derāz-dasti
Ham qesse-ye nānemude dāni
Ham nāme-ye nāneveshte khāni
Ham to be enāyat-e elāhi
Ānjā qadamam resān ke khāhi
Az zolmat-e khod rahāyi-am deh
Bā nur-e khod āshnāyi-am deh

ترجمه

O Your name, the best of beginnings —
without Your name, how would I open the book?
O thought of You, companion of my soul,
nothing but Your name is on my tongue.
O You who unlock all that exists,
Your name is the key to all that's shut.
O Maker, foundation of all being,
before Your gate the longest reach falls short.
You know the tale not yet told,
You read the letter not yet written.
And by Your divine grace,
bring my steps to wherever You will.
Deliver me from my own darkness;
acquaint me with Your light.
